About the role#
As a software engineering intern, you will work alongside experts in machine learning, robotics, and software development. You will join one of our specialized teams, including Data Platform, Onboard Systems, ML Infrastructure, Simulation, or Technical Infrastructure, based on your skills and interests.
What you'll do#
- Manage the system for Nuro AI Driver data, labels, and metrics.
- Provide a reliable and high-performance platform for our autonomy teams.
- Develop solutions to support machine learning development and optimize on-cloud training and onboard inference.
- Build simulators and frameworks to test autonomous driving technology in virtual settings.
- Own fundamental services such as compute platforms, storage management, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD tools.
What you'll need#
- Current BS or MS candidate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field, graduating in December 2026 or later.
- Experience in backend API design, applications development, or large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience with data storage and processing systems.
- Proficiency in advanced algorithms using C++ and Python.
- Knowledge of machine learning, multithreading, x86 architecture, and software performance tuning.
- Experience with robotics software frameworks and compute modalities including CPU, GPU, and FPGA.
- Strong problem-solving and programming skills.
