CVD Laboratory Intern Fall 2026

About the role#

This internship offers hands-on experience supporting the research and development stages of Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) processes. Working alongside a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians, you will contribute to laboratory and pilot-scale operations while gaining exposure to real-world manufacturing environments.

What you'll do#

• Operate complex CVD laboratory equipment and small pilot-scale systems.
• Prepare glass substrates for depositions and maintain accurate records in accordance with ISO9001:2000 standards.
• Handle chemicals safely in compliance with SDS standards and contribute to safety improvements in lab operations.
• Troubleshoot process issues and implement timely solutions.
• Participate in the development and installation of new laboratory equipment.
• Create and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Communicate technical information effectively with lab personnel.

What you'll need#

• Current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemistry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude with demonstrated hands-on technical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• A demonstrated commitment to safety and ethical behavior.
