About the role#
The New Jersey Casino Control Commission is seeking a Digital Communications Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This paid position is based in Atlantic City and offers an opportunity to work with the Policy Planning and Development Unit. You will assist in monitoring financial trends and emerging technologies while supporting the agency's public outreach and digital presence.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to digital and social media strategies and create content for agency initiatives.
- Prepare awareness campaigns and social media posts.
- Develop and update public materials like brochures and fact sheets.
- Monitor online presence on platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube.
- Research and suggest community outreach opportunities.
- Assist with graphic design and the live streaming of public meetings.
- Provide status reports and participate in staff meetings.
- Complete assigned projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old and a New Jersey resident.
- You must be actively pursuing an undergraduate, graduate, or law degree on a full-time basis.
- An interest in communications or public relations within a governmental regulatory agency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet research.
- Strong skills in writing, copyediting, messaging, branding, and marketing.
- Knowledge of major social media platforms.
- Ability to plan and execute tactics for increased digital visibility.
- Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
- Previous office experience is preferred, and graphic design skills with Canva are a plus.
Location & details#
- This internship is located on-site in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
- The position is paid at $20.00 per hour.
- You will work between 14 and 24 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during business hours.
- This role does not offer sponsorship.
