Environmental Technician Co-op Student

About the role#

This is a full-time, paid Environmental Technician Co-op Student position for the Fall 2026 term. Based at the Goldboro Gold Project in Nova Scotia, you will work within the environment team to implement field programs and support environmental management protocols. This role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and performing physically demanding tasks on uneven terrain.

What you'll do#

• Demonstrate a commitment to safety and excellence while working toward team objectives.
• Complete field sampling programs, including surface water quality, groundwater quality, and stream flow measurements.
• Ensure all sampling protocols are followed, recorded, and reported in a timely manner.
• Analyze, interpret, and manage environmental data to maintain quality standards.
• Support the site team's understanding of environmental performance and promote adherence to protocols.
• Assist in the preparation of internal and external environmental documentation.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Canadian college or university Co-op program, with course credit received for this placement.
• Pursuit of a technical degree or diploma in Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Nursing, Public Health, or Kinesiology.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products for communication and data entry.
• Ability to perform physically demanding fieldwork, including hiking 5-7 kilometers on uneven terrain and lifting 35+ pounds.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable Criminal Record Check.
• Ability to pass pre-employment and periodic fit test assessments.
• Must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person legally entitled to work in Canada.

Location & details#

• Location: Goldboro, Nova Scotia.
• Term: September 8, 2026, to December 18, 2026.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm AST.
• Modality: On-site with fieldwork.
• Compensation: $24.72 per hour.
• Additional support: Company-provided housing is available for those outside commuting distance, and travel arrangements for one roundtrip are provided for non-local candidates.
