About the role#
The New York Compensation Insurance Rating Board is hiring an Actuarial Intern for the summer of 2026. You will join our Actuarial department to gain experience in the workers compensation field. This role involves working both independently and with the team on projects that support our departmental goals.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain actuarial models.
- Review data for accuracy and reconcile information.
- Research and assist with special projects.
- Compile statistical and analytical reports.
- Present your findings and offer recommendations.
- Attend meetings as invited by leadership.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program.
- Completion of at least one actuarial exam.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to think creatively and communicate clearly.
- A collaborative approach to teamwork.
- Availability for the full duration of the program from June 2 to August 6, 2026.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, NY.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with 3 days per week required in the office.
- Compensation: $29 to $34 per hour.
