About the role#
The Pediatric Orthopedic Research Scholar position is a one-year fellowship at Nemours Children's Hospital. It provides medical students and recent graduates the opportunity to engage in research projects within the Pediatric Orthopedic Department. Fellows receive access to statistical support, research methods instruction, and clinical databases to assist in the development of projects for presentation and publication.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with physicians, scientists, and staff to plan and conduct research projects.
- Design and complete IRB applications.
- Collect and review clinical data and measure X-rays.
- Perform literature searches and analyze existing data.
- Complete manuscripts for publication and conference presentations.
- Attend clinical conferences, visiting speaker sessions, and Journal Club meetings.
- Participate in high-volume clinical practice to shadow mentors and gain exposure.
- Observe surgical procedures in the operating room.
- Adhere to department and institutional research policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a U.S.-based medical school at any level of training.
- Recent graduates of a U.S.-based medical school.
