About the role#
The State of Nebraska Communications Team is looking for a Marketing Intern for Summer 2027. You will help us share our mission and connect with communities across the state through content creation, social media strategy, and public relations initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience in branding and communications within a government setting.
What you'll do#
- Write and edit communication materials like press releases, articles, website copy, and talking points.
- Create content for social media, newsletters, and digital campaigns.
- Design graphics using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
- Support video and photography projects with a focus on storytelling.
- Monitor media campaign engagement and analyze reach.
- Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and execute content strategies.
- Maintain consistent branding and tone across all platforms.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program, or graduation within the last year.
- A degree path in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Strong skills in writing, editing, and storytelling.
- Experience or coursework in digital media, content creation, or public relations.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Microsoft Office.
- A solid understanding of social media platforms and audience engagement.
- The ability to work in a team, hit deadlines, and manage multiple projects.
