About the role#
The NCU Charitable Foundation Intern works with the Senior Vice President and leadership team to gain experience in nonprofit and philanthropic management. This role is intended for an upper-level undergraduate interested in nonprofit leadership, strategic philanthropy, or social impact work.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Senior Vice President with daily administrative and strategic tasks.
- Conduct research on potential grantees, sector trends, and philanthropic best practices.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and internal briefing documents.
- Help prepare for board meetings by drafting agendas, minutes, and follow-up items.
- Coordinate special projects including impact assessments, program evaluations, and community outreach.
- Provide logistical support for foundation events and meetings.
- Maintain organized documentation of grants and foundation activities.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in business, marketing, communications, non-profit management, public administration, social sciences, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Basic knowledge of database tools and reporting.
- Strong research, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated interest in philanthropy, community development, or nonprofit work.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to function in a commercial office environment and lift at least 25 lbs.
- Prior experience with donor or grants management software is a plus.
