Student Engagement Specialist

About the role#

The Student Engagement Specialist supports the planning, coordination, and execution of student activities and leadership programs. This role focuses on day-to-day operations and logistics to ensure successful campus programming, including the oversight of recreational sports and student worker supervision.

What you'll do#

• Coordinate logistics for student events, including space reservations, vendor communication, and event setup.
• Assist in the planning and execution of campus-wide programs, leadership initiatives, and workshops.
• Provide direct support to student organizations, offering event planning assistance and resource guidance.
• Encourage student participation in social, cultural, civic, and recreational programs.
• Maintain accurate records of student participation and engagement data.
• Oversee the Recreational Sports calendar, including the management of leagues, tournaments, and special events.
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise student work-study staff.
• Assist with marketing efforts, event promotion, and institutional compliance.

What you'll need#

• Associate’s degree in a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• One to three years of experience in event planning, student services, or campus programming.
• Experience in higher education, student affairs, or advising student organizations is preferred.
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
