Counseling Intern

About the role#

The Counseling Intern at the Bulldog Mental Wellness Center gains practical experience in a professional higher education setting. This role is designed for students in Psychology, Nursing, or Public Health to observe and participate in counseling activities while working under the supervision of the Executive Director of Student Services & Athletics. Please note that this is an unpaid, voluntary internship and the intern is not an employee of Navarro College.

What you'll do#

• Participate in various counseling activities within the center.
• Assist the Executive Director of Student Services & Athletics with daily operations.
• Gain hands-on experience in a busy, active office environment.
• Attend required training sessions and meetings.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment or background in Psychology, Nursing, or Public Health.
• Previous experience in the field of counseling.
• Ability to work effectively under supervision.
• Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.

• Location: Corsicana, Texas.
• Modality: On-site.
• Commitment: Full-time hours with a rolling term.
• Note: Variances from regular working hours may be necessary to fulfill position responsibilities.
