About the role#
The National Milk Producers Federation offers a 10-12 week summer internship for students interested in dairy industry policy, regulatory affairs, and trade. You will work with staff across government relations, communications, and membership services to support our mission. This is a paid, full-time, on-site role based in the Washington D.C. area.
What you'll do#
- Support the regulatory team with nutrition, food safety, and labeling initiatives.
- Research and edit comments submitted to regulatory agencies.
- Perform data analysis and present your findings to the team.
- Write communications, interview questions, and articles.
- Review, summarize, and analyze federal registry notices and Congressional bills.
- Develop member-focused educational resources and one-pagers.
- Assist with National Dairy FARM Program events.
- Handle daily office tasks and support staff with cooperative membership interactions.
- Attend meetings and take notes on behalf of the organization.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student.
- Degree pursuit in dairy, agriculture, food science, social responsibility, economics, or related fields.
- Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
- Availability to be in the D.C. area for the full duration of the internship.
