Underwriting Intern

About the role#

This internship provides an opportunity to gain knowledge of fundamental insurance concepts, including coverages and pricing, while developing an understanding of basic commercial auto insurance underwriting. The position is based in Omaha, Nebraska, and follows a rolling term schedule.

What you'll do#

• Evaluate risk acceptability based on driver quality, loss history, and overall business operations.
• Identify and communicate potential problems to lead underwriters.
• Communicate pricing decisions to agents and answer related questions.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
• Major in Business Administration, Mathematics, or an equivalent field.
• Proficiency in basic math.
• Excellent grammar, proofreading, and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work with detail and accuracy.

• Location: Omaha, Nebraska.
• Modality: On-site.
• Compensation: Paid.
• Hours: 15-30 hours per week during the school year; 30-40 hours per week during the summer.
