About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to gain experience in financial planning and analysis within the insurance industry. Interns will collaborate with teams and work independently on projects, with the chance to present findings to company leadership. The role involves learning to use Excel, SQL, and Power BI to produce outputs for management, challenging existing processes, and driving operational change.
What you'll do#
- Complete analytical projects across various areas of the business.
- Compile data from multiple sources to prepare consolidated reports and documents.
- Assist in the development of internal controls and performance metrics.
- Provide insight into technological improvements and data presentation methods.
- Conduct ad hoc internet research and spreadsheet preparation.
- Perform clerical responsibilities, including data cleansing and organization.
What you'll need#
- Minimum incoming Junior class standing in a four-year degree program.
- Pursuing a degree in Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or Economics.
- Proficiency with personal computers and software including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Excellent grammar, proofreading, and oral or written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and punctuality.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
Location & details#
- Location: Omaha, Nebraska.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
- Availability: 15 to 20 hours per week during the school year, with up to 40 hours per week available during the summer.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
