About the role#
The Robust Software Engineering Group at NASA Ames is prototyping rover swarms to handle complex tasks. Controlling these systems from a ground station is difficult as the number of units increases. You will work on an SI agent that sits closer to the swarm, allowing it to manage telemetry and issue commands. This approach reduces the load on operators and helps rovers work together with minimal human oversight.
What you'll do#
- Develop an SI agent for deployment near the swarm.
- Generate and fine-tune the agent for autonomous movement and coordination.
- Learn about NASA core Flight Software (cFS).
- Build knowledge of basic computer networking.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate master's student.
- Major in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Mathematics.
- US citizenship.
Location & details#
- Location: Moffett Field, California.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- This is a full-time, unpaid internship.
