About the role#
This internship program offers exposure to various departments including underwriting, product strategy, analytics, operations, training, and vendor management. Interns contribute to real projects that support business objectives while building practical experience in the insurance industry. You will work alongside experienced professionals and connect with leadership throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Research underwriting processes and identify improvements.
- Analyze business data and operational outputs.
- Enter and maintain information in underwriting systems.
- Assist with reporting, trend analysis, and research on claims drivers or risk mitigation.
- Support rate-plan filings and product performance projects.
- Develop business-ready presentations and summaries.
- Help coordinate manual updates and support underwriting strategy.
- Assist with rating structures in Earnix and document operational findings.
- Update training curriculum, templates, and process documentation.
- Create learning materials and assessments.
- Support invoice processing, vendor administration, and contract-related activities.
- Monitor transaction reporting and compare spending against budgets.
- Present recommendations and findings to leadership teams.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Insurance, Integrated Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or a related field.
- Rising Junior or Senior status.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for the entire summer program.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative on projects.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis without sponsorship.

- Location: Amelia, Ohio.
- Modality: Hybrid, with approximately 40 to 50% of time spent in the office.
- Requirements: Reliable transportation for office commutes.
- Term: Summer 2027.
