About the role#
ModMed is looking for Software Engineering interns for Summer 2027. You will join our Product Development team to work on real-world projects alongside experienced engineers and architects. This role is a full-time, paid internship based in our Boca Raton headquarters.
What you'll do#
- Solve complex technical problems and contribute to frontend, backend, or mobile development.
- Deploy code to internal and external customers.
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams to provide system support.
- Document proposed architectural designs and build scalable cloud infrastructure.
- Drive infrastructure automation and integrate AWS managed services.
- Develop AI-powered healthcare agent automations.
- Implement end-to-end CI/CD regression test suites.
- Enhance continuous operations and observability.
- Build scalable data pipelines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science or related program, or pursuing a Masters or PhD in Computer Science or Artificial Intelligence.
- A GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microservices, Java, MySQL, and Angular.
- Familiarity with cloud computing, networking principles, and infrastructure as code concepts.
- Understanding of distributed systems fundamentals and Git PR-based workflows.
- A strong builder mindset for agentic development and prompt engineering.
- Experience with AI development tools like Claude, Codex, or Cursor.
- Preferred experience includes streaming platforms, containerization, caching, Web sockets, and AWS.
