About the role#
The Investment Banking group in Chicago is seeking a Summer Associate to join our team. You will work on the design, origination, structuring, and execution of mergers and acquisitions. This role involves both buy-side and sell-side advisory mandates. You will identify industry trends and contribute to pitch and deal materials for our clients.
What you'll do#
- Conduct quantitative economic, industry, and company research.
- Draft and prepare pitch books with detailed industry materials.
- Model corporate finance alternatives and perform due diligence for transactions.
- Build financial models including discounted cash flow, comparable companies, precedent transactions, leveraged buyouts, and merger combinations.
- Facilitate idea generation and solutions development across the firm.
- Develop client presentations with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Assist in the evaluation and execution of M&A transactions.
- Support the cultivation of client relationships.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- Current enrollment in an MBA program concentrating in Finance with an expected graduation date of Spring 2028.
- Knowledge of corporate finance, securities, financial markets, and risk and pricing analysis.
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of information to develop new ideas.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Maturity and judgment when handling confidential information.
- Intellectual curiosity and a creative approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Pre-MBA experience in Financial Services is a strong plus.
