Supply Chain Strategic Sourcing & Cost Management - Intern

About the role#

This internship provides hands-on experience in global sourcing and procurement within the industrial machinery manufacturing sector. You will support supply chain personnel with day-to-day project activities, including the procurement of raw materials, equipment, and parts. The role focuses on understanding the full procurement lifecycle, from issuing requests for quotes to monitoring vendor performance and ensuring the timely delivery of materials.

What you'll do#

• Establish and issue Requests for Proposal (RFP) and Requests for Quote (RFQ) for procurement projects.
• Review and evaluate global sourcing data to support company growth and strategic direction.
• Negotiate contracts and manage vendor compliance within established budgetary limitations.
• Maintain accurate procurement records regarding items purchased, costs, delivery schedules, and product quality.
• Collaborate with quality control and internal teams to resolve issues with defective or unacceptable goods.
• Support upper management in meeting corporate goals and project objectives.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or Operations Management.
• Interest in supply chain operations, including buying, selling, and contract management.
• Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP), Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical materials, including engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve practical problems and interpret various forms of data.
• General business literacy and the ability to communicate effectively with management and stakeholders.
