About the role#
As a Legal Intern for Summer 2027, you will work directly with our General Counsel, Senior Counsel, Associate Counsel, and Legal Administrative Assistant. This role provides exposure to real estate transactional law, litigation, contract negotiations, human resources, marketing, finance, and intellectual property. You will collaborate with our legal team and outside counsel to understand our work product and business practices within a corporate environment.
What you'll do#
- Support acquisition, disposition, financing, and refinancing transactions.
- Organize and maintain transaction documents.
- Summarize and track critical contractual dates.
- Participate in Legal Department meetings.
- Handle entity formation, including the preparation of governing documents.
- Draft and review contracts while interacting with various departments.
- Manage the governing documents and contracts library, including reviewing documentation and recommending solutions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in law school.
- Background, coursework, or interest in real estate law.
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
- High level of attention to detail and sound business judgment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and collaborate with others.
- Skilled at meeting deadlines under time pressure.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficient in various operating systems and software products.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Required application materials: law school transcript, cover letter, resume, and a writing sample.

- This is a paid, full-time internship based on-site in Indianapolis, Indiana.
- The position is for the Summer 2027 term.
