About the role#
Midland Memorial Hospital is hiring a Health Care Intern to support our nursing department. This is a paid, on-site role based in Midland, Texas. The position follows a PRN schedule during the day.
What you'll do#
- Provide non-clinical care to adult and pediatric patients.
- Perform clinical care tasks as delegated by licensed nurses within your scope of practice.
- Interact with patients, families, staff, and visitors in a positive manner.
- Follow established workflows for both clinical and non-clinical care.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, patients, and families.
- Maintain a safe environment for everyone in the facility.
- Follow infection control policies, including hand washing.
- Demonstrate professional behavior, including meeting annual education requirements and following dress code policies.
- Help orient new team members.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- You must be enrolled in high school or an equivalent program.
- You must be an active member or a recent graduate of the Medical Explorers Program.
- You must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, and lift. You can lift up to 35 lbs for clinical tasks or 50 lbs for non-clinical tasks. You must use assisted-lift devices or ask for help for weights above these limits.
