About the role#
As an Applications Engineering Intern in the Data Center Solutions Business Unit, you will support the applications team with board bring-up, tool development, and technical support. You will work in a lab environment to analyze and recreate customer system issues. This role requires the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
What you'll do#
- Set up lab equipment, including the installation of operating systems, drivers, debuggers, and analyzers.
- Perform bring-up and debugging for customer evaluation boards.
- Develop and maintain customer collaterals, custom firmware, and diagnostic tools.
- Analyze and find the root cause for customer-reported problems in the lab.
- Provide product training for internal teams and customers.
- Demonstrate new product features at trade shows and industry events.
- Conduct performance and power measurements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS or MS program for Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Programming experience in C, C++, Python, Java, or TCL/Tk.
- A basic understanding of computer architecture.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Effective writing and communication skills.
- Experience with board-level debug and bring-up.
- Familiarity with installing Linux and Windows operating systems, plus hardware and driver setup.
- Knowledge of technologies such as NVMe, PCI-Express, SAS, SATA, Fibre Channel, Ethernet, DDR, NAND Flash, UART, or SPI.
- Experience with hardware design, schematic capture, and board layout.
- Experience with embedded firmware or driver development.

- Compensation: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on skills, experience, and location.
