About the role#
This is a paid internship for the Summer of 2027 based in Chicago. You will work on-site to help our team analyze energy use and support projects that lower utility costs for our clients. We look for students who want to build their technical skills while helping building owners and utility partners improve energy efficiency.
What you'll do#
- Perform energy analysis using our established calculation templates.
- Gather data from online sources or in-person site visits to support engineering projects.
- Assist in writing reports for our customers.
- Conduct research tasks as needed.
- Create and improve calculation templates and tools.
- Shadow experienced engineers to learn about HVAC, industrial systems, lighting, and electrification.
What you'll need#
- You are a Junior or Senior student pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Energy Engineering.
- A strong academic background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics.
- Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
- A genuine interest in energy conservation.
- Ability to travel regionally up to 30% of the time for site visits.
