About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Co-op position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site in Charlotte, North Carolina, supporting the integration of value-added options on CNC machine tool platforms. This role requires collaboration with the Production and Applications Engineering departments to develop effective, repeatable installation processes.
What you'll do#
- Write assembly guides and work instructions for CNC machine tool platforms and associated kits.
- Focus on electro-mechanical and control systems, including mechanical interfaces, hydraulics, pneumatics, wiring, and robotics.
- Facilitate the installation of new options and document the procedures.
- Identify installation hurdles and work with internal teams to develop solutions.
- Collect and analyze process data to track Key Performance Indicators.
- Conduct internal audits and lead projects to improve product quality and process efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area while following all safety procedures.
- Use Solid Works CAD software to create or update detailed drawings.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma, 5S, Poke Yoke, and Visual Management principles.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering program.
- Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, easy-to-understand formats.
- Commitment to promoting ISO 9001:2015 standards.
