About the role#
Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, Inc. offers a part-time internship for the Winter 2027 term. This program provides mentorship from Communications and Public Relations Specialists. You will work 20 hours per week in an on-site office environment in San Antonio.
What you'll do#
- Draft press releases, media pitches, and related materials.
- Support the planning and execution of internal and external events.
- Create content for newsletters, staff announcements, and intranet updates.
- Participate in community outreach initiatives.
- Research audiences and create content for marketing campaigns.
- Develop social media content for various platforms.
- Design digital and print materials using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Assist with project management, including tracking timelines and objectives.
- Adhere to organizational communication and graphic standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Good academic standing and eligibility to receive academic credit.
- Strong written communication skills with a firm grasp of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Familiarity with the Associated Press Stylebook is preferred.
- Fluency in English, with a preference for bilingual Spanish speakers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint) and internet literacy.
- Experience with social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Ability to lift and maneuver 25 pounds.
