The Human Resources Intern will provide tactical support for Human Development (HD) functional areas and plant operations. This role focuses on the administration of policies, program goals, and support for labor relations, training, and employee engagement strategies. You will interact frequently with employees at all levels to ensure compliance and support operational needs.
What you'll do#
- Support the plant HD team across all pillars, including Labor Affairs, Human Development Business Partnering, Talent Management, Learning & Development, and Talent Acquisition.
- Administer FMLA and related documentation, including performing leave audits.
- Conduct employee and new hire training sessions.
- Support the Employee Engagement Strategy by assisting with event planning, recognition programs, and dialogue forums.
- Manage HD system administration, including timecard, payroll, and internal HD systems.
- Assist with labor affairs by supporting discipline meetings and tracking corrective action status.
- Analyze data and reports related to hiring, turnover, and staffing trends.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits and staffing, escalating to subject matter experts as needed.
- Support purchasing tasks such as auditing invoices and entering requisitions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or recent graduation from HR-related courses, with an associate’s degree or certifications preferred.
- At least 1 year of work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Ability to adjust your schedule to support operational coverage.
- Willingness to resolve conflict effectively and facilitate meetings for groups of various sizes.
- Ability to learn and apply state and government regulations, including EEO, Affirmative Action, HIPAA, FLSA, NLRB, and DOL standards.
