About the role#
We are looking for a student intern to join our Language Services team. This position is designed for students currently enrolled in an ASL/English Interpreter Training Program who need to complete practicum or internship hours. You will gain experience in a mental health setting while receiving mentorship from certified interpreters.
What you'll do#
- Provide ASL/English interpretation for various encounters, including health and wellness workshops, art classes, and community events.
- Shadow professional interpreters and participate in regular supervision and feedback sessions to build your skills.
- Collaborate with the Impact and Engagement department to maintain a welcoming environment.
- Attend team and department meetings and in-service training.
- Maintain a trauma informed environment throughout your daily tasks.
- Adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct for interpreters at all times.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ASL/English Interpreter Training Program at the associate or bachelor level.
- Advanced proficiency in ASL.
- Completed or ongoing coursework in interpretation.
- Experience in community service, non-profit, or healthcare settings is helpful but not required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.

- Location: Denver, Colorado. You must have the ability to float to other locations.
- Modality: This is an on-site, full-time, non-paid internship.
