About the role#
MEMX is looking for a Legal Intern to join our team for the summer of 2027. This role offers law students practical experience within a financial technology and securities exchange organization. You will work directly with experienced attorneys to support the business through legal research and documentation.
What you'll do#
- Conduct legal research on relevant topics and summarize findings for the team.
- Assist with drafting, reviewing, and proofreading regulatory filings, agreements, and correspondence.
- Organize and maintain legal files, research, and team resources.
- Attend meetings and collaborate with attorneys and colleagues across the organization.
- Support additional legal projects as needs arise.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a J.D. program.
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational habits.
- Clear communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work in person at our Midtown Manhattan office.
- Permanent residence in one of our approved states for remote work: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, or Utah.

- The role is hybrid, requiring 2 days in-person at our Midtown Manhattan office.
