About the role#
The Duty Drawback Data & Process Automation Intern supports the collection, validation, and organization of import and export data for duty drawback claims. You will start by gathering data from various systems and stakeholders to build accurate reporting. As you learn the workflow, you will identify ways to automate data collection and improve overall reporting accuracy. This is a temporary, full-time, paid role based on-site in Newark, New Jersey.
What you'll do#
- Collect and consolidate import and export transaction data from internal systems, suppliers, freight providers, and customs documentation.
- Review and validate data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with duty drawback requirements.
- Document current-state data collection and reporting processes.
- Reconcile shipment records, customs entries, and invoices.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies by working with internal teams.
- Develop process maps and standard operating procedures.
- Assist in building automated solutions for data extraction, cleansing, and reporting.
- Create dashboards and tracking tools to monitor drawback activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, ETL/Data Processing, APIs & File Integration, Git/GitHub, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate findings and process improvements to stakeholders.
