About the role#
MagLev Aero is seeking a Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering intern to join our team in Boston. You will work under the direction of a lead engineer to develop and implement project deliverables. This position is on-site and full-time.
What you'll do#
- Create and modify detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using CAD software.
- Operate and maintain 3D printers and other rapid prototyping tools.
- Design and execute physical testing plans to validate component performance, strength, and fit.
- Assist in the hands-on assembly, alignment, and mechanical integration of complex systems.
- Maintain organized files for CAD models, revisions, and project documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related degree program.
- Experience with at least one industry-standard CAD software package.
- Demonstrable experience operating and troubleshooting various 3D printing technologies.
- Prior involvement in rapid design and build projects.
- Strong understanding of fundamental mechanical principles.
- Practical skills using basic shop tools.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and apply GD&T concepts.
- Experience in university or competitive engineering teams.
