About the role#
As a Design Engineer Co-Op, you will work with our Los Angeles team to support the engineering and development of beauty product packaging. You will gain experience turning creative concepts into functional packaging solutions. This role involves working with a global team to move designs from initial concepts to final manufacturable files.
What you'll do#
- Convert conceptual packaging designs into engineered 3D CAD models.
- Create and update SolidWorks files, 2D drawings, and visual schematics.
- Evaluate materials and manufacturing processes such as injection molding, blow molding, and decoration techniques.
- Participate in design reviews to provide input on product functionality and manufacturability.
- Manage prototype development and 3D printing of components.
- Coordinate with international engineering teams and vendors.
- Review product testing data, including drop and vibration tests, and document feedback.
- Assist with project organization, reporting, and timelines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Product Development Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software through coursework or previous internships.
- An interest in consumer products, specifically beauty or CPG packaging.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Location & details#
- Location: Los Angeles, California.
- Work Modality: On-site (minimum 4 days per week).
- Commitment: Full-time (40 hours per week).
