About the role#
As a Perception Intern at Mach9, you will contribute to projects critical to the development and enhancement of our core products. You will work on advanced 2D image and 3D point cloud models for object and panoptic detection. The work focuses on urban and roadway features including traffic lights, utility poles, curbs, and painted road markings.
What you'll do#
- Bring perception models and algorithms into a real-time detection domain. This involves balancing accuracy and speed to run on edge mapping hardware.
- Assist in the development and tuning of machine learning models to improve performance.
- Develop prototypes for detecting roadway features like paint lines and curbs.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Strong programming fundamentals in Python.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch or Jax.
- Familiarity with computer vision tasks.
- Ability to implement and iterate on heuristic or geometry-based algorithms quickly.
- Solid understanding of machine learning concepts.
- Capacity to work independently on complex tasks and collaborate with a team.
