Leasing Intern

About the role#

The Leasing Intern position at Mac Properties provides hands-on experience in residential real estate. Working under the direction of the Director of Leasing or Portfolio Manager, you will gain insight into maximizing occupancy and revenue through lead generation, sales, and lease management across a variety of building types, ranging from vintage walk-ups to luxury high-rises.

What you'll do#

• Conduct regular inspections of model and vacant units to identify maintenance or cleaning needs and prepare work orders.
• Assist in marketing efforts by taking photos of units and providing strategy recommendations to Leasing Managers.
• Tour apartments with clients and leasing agents, and perform follow-up calls to qualified leads within 24 hours.
• Plan, coordinate, and attend leasing, marketing, and resident events.
• Participate in focused training sessions with Resident Services, Maintenance, and other property management departments.
• Engage in weekly check-ins with assigned mentors and managers.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in or recent graduation from a 4-year accredited program, with at least two years of completed coursework.
• Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
• Proficiency with personal computers and internet applications.
• A valid driver’s license is required; a personal vehicle is preferred.
• One year of customer service or work-related experience is preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
• Physical ability to walk apartments and grounds, climb stairs, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
