About the role#
Lutheran Social Services of WI & Upper MI is looking for an Accounting Services Intern to join our financial team. This role supports the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and the processing of financial transactions. You will work up to 20 hours per week and contribute to the accuracy of our financial records.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the team to reach strategic goals.
- Learn how our accounting software, financial reporting, and general ledger structures function.
- Practice high ethical standards in all accounting work.
- Complete account reconciliations, investigate variances, and escalate significant issues.
- Prepare and document routine general ledger entries.
- Balance clearing accounts.
- Solve problems alongside team members and assist with various projects.
What you'll need#
- You must be a Bachelor's level student with at least junior status.
- Active enrollment in an accounting program or relevant coursework.
- Technical skills in financial data record keeping, reporting, and business software.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
- A customer service mindset and clear communication skills.
- The ability to remain flexible, handle multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality.

- Location: West Allis, Wisconsin.
- This is an on-site, part-time, paid internship.
- The position is available on a rolling basis.
