About the role#
As an IT Specialist Intern, you will act as the primary point of contact for technical support at Lumilens. You will manage day-to-day Helpdesk tasks, including ticket triage, device troubleshooting, and hardware asset management. This role provides an opportunity to work alongside the full-time IT team on endpoint management, identity access, and security initiatives.
What you'll do#
- Serve as the first point of contact for T1 and T2 Helpdesk support, triaging and resolving end-user tickets across macOS, Windows, and Linux.
- Assist with device imaging, configuration, and deployment for new hires using MDM platforms.
- Manage user onboarding and offboarding, including account provisioning and deprovisioning.
- Troubleshoot L1 and L2 connectivity issues, such as Wi-Fi, VPN, and basic VLAN problems.
- Maintain hardware assets, including inventory tracking, asset tagging, and lifecycle documentation.
- Support conference room AV equipment, including displays and video conferencing systems.
- Create and update Helpdesk documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
- Collaborate with the IT team on projects involving SaaS administration and security.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of macOS, Windows, or Linux operating systems.
- A basic understanding of networking concepts like TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Strong communication skills to support a diverse user base.
- An eagerness to learn and take initiative on Helpdesk tasks.
