About the role#
Lumentum is seeking an innovative student to join the Optical Communication Transport Engineering team in Ottawa, Ontario. As a member of the Program Management Office, you will lead Release Management projects to help maintain and grow our business. You will work with engineers, overseas factories, and suppliers to improve product cost, security of supply, and manufacturing capacity. This is a full-time, on-site co-op position.
What you'll do#
- Take ownership of critical projects as the lead Project Manager.
- Define and document project scope, goals, budget, and deliverables.
- Develop project structures and maintain documentation in Confluence.
- Support the development and implementation of coordinated plans and schedules.
- Collaborate with the Senior Program Manager to monitor project schedules.
- Communicate project status to stakeholders and management.
- Lead regular meetings to share project expectations.
- Order and track material procurement through Oracle Enterprise Manager.
- Participate in hiring and onboarding the next cohort of co-ops and develop training resources.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Must be returning to school starting September 2028.
- Interest in Project or Program Management.
- Excellent leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in ambiguous situations and define a path to resolution.
- Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Ability to form collaborative working relationships.
- Previous co-op experience or involvement in extra-curricular activities is an asset.
- Familiarity with Miro, Confluence, JIRA, Oracle, Agile, or Tableau is an asset.
- Eligibility to complete a background check.
