About the role#
London Computer Systems is hiring a Software Developer Co-op or Intern to join our development team in Cincinnati. You will work alongside experienced developers to build, enhance, and troubleshoot software used by our customers. This role provides hands-on experience with professional development practices and technologies across various parts of the application stack.
What you'll do#
- Develop and enhance features for LCS software applications.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Work on application functionality including back-end services, user interfaces, and databases.
- Participate in designing, developing, testing, debugging, and implementing software changes.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and help identify practical solutions.
- Collaborate with developers and other teams to build new functionality.
- Participate in code reviews and other team development practices.
- Learn how software moves through development, testing, and release.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in computer science, software development, information technology, or a related field.
- Foundational understanding of object-oriented programming.
- Experience writing software through coursework, personal projects, or previous internships.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work through technical challenges.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and development practices.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to manage assignments and follow through on responsibilities.
- Preferred: Experience with C#.NET, TypeScript, JavaScript, Angular, MySQL, WPF, or Git.
- Preferred: Familiarity with the software development life cycle and experience developing web or desktop applications.
