About the role#
As a Vehicle Engineering Co-op, you will work alongside professional engineers and test technicians. This role offers the chance to apply your academic coursework to real-world testing projects within a global engineering company. This is a full-time, paid position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Support vehicle testing activities, including test creation, hardware review, execution, and data reporting.
- Analyze test results to create engineering reports that meet customer specifications.
- Assist with troubleshooting and identifying the root causes of vehicle issues.
- Track test metrics and manage data archiving.
- Use Windows-based systems to manage measurement data and network files.
- Work on special projects as assigned while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Uphold company values, including accountability, commitment, and a can-do attitude.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical, Software, Electrical, or a related engineering field.
- A high school diploma.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written forms.
- Comfort with complex concepts and a willingness to learn from new problems.
- Capability to practice active listening to gain new skills and participate in brainstorming sessions.
Location & details#
- This position is based on-site in Dearborn, Michigan.
- You may be required to travel domestically up to 10% of the time.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 20 pounds, as well as bending, stooping, and reaching in a testing and manufacturing environment.
