About the role#
As a Full Stack Software Engineering Co-op, you will build the applications that turn sensor data into insights for power grid management. You will work across the entire stack, from Python data pipelines to React and TypeScript web applications. This role is based in our Charlestown, MA headquarters.
What you'll do#
- Design, build, test, and maintain software applications and internal tools to support data health and application administration.
- Integrate with internal and external APIs, cloud services, and relational databases.
- Contribute to new system design and proof-of-concept exploration.
- Support team goals of continuous improvement and a growth-mindset culture.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related degree.
- Experience with Javascript and Python.
- Knowledge of object-oriented and functional design principles, relational databases, distributed software design, and Agile methodologies.
- A disciplined approach to test-driven software development.
- Experience with web application front ends and RESTful API backends.
- Preferred experience includes Typescript, SQL, React, Node, and cloud infrastructure like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with math and science Python libraries such as Pandas or NumPy.
- Strong initiative, creative problem-solving skills, and a collaborative team spirit.
Location & details#
- Location: Boston, Massachusetts.
- Term: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027 (January 19 to August 27, 2027).
- Work Modality: Hybrid (2-4 days per week in the office).
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
- Compensation: $25 per hour.
