About the role#
Lincoln International is seeking Summer Associates to join the M&A practice for the summer of 2027. This full-time, paid internship provides direct exposure to senior bankers and client executives. Associates are involved in every stage of the M&A transaction process, gaining experience in deal execution from start to finish. This role is open to candidates currently pursuing an MBA with an expected graduation date in 2028.
What you'll do#
- Perform financial analysis and valuations.
- Conduct industry research and identify potential buyers or acquisition targets.
- Prepare confidential information memoranda and management presentations.
- Support senior bankers during negotiations.
- Assist with the due diligence and closing process.
- Prepare materials for and participate in new business meetings.
- Host visits of potential buyers at client facilities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a top-tier MBA program with a 2028 graduation date.
- Outstanding academic record.
- Fluency in accounting and finance with strong business acumen.
- Assertive and self-motivated work style.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Relevant majors include Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Political Science.
- Prior experience in M&A, capital raising, or investment banking is preferred but not required.

- Locations: Chicago, IL; New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA.
- Work Modality: Hybrid. Employees work in the office Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely or from the office on Fridays.
