About the role#
The Personal Training Internship at Life Time provides hands-on experience for individuals looking to start a career in the health and fitness industry. You will work under the mentorship of experienced trainers to gain real-world skills through observation and direct client interaction. This is a paid, part-time position with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Complete all required training modules and follow company safety standards.
- Assist members on the fitness floor by providing education, motivation, and ensuring safe equipment use.
- Perform fitness assessments and manage service desk duties.
- Maintain cleanliness of fitness equipment.
- Promote personal training programs and services to members.
- Help lead personal training sessions when appropriate.
- Document your weekly progress, including observations, lessons learned, and training techniques.
- Meet with your supervisor weekly to review objectives.
- Participate in member engagement activities like boothing and front desk support.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Working knowledge of the human body and fitness principles.
- Ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly.
- Punctual, energetic, and positive personality.
- Goal of earning an accredited Personal Training Certification or a related degree.
- Interest in becoming a Life Time Personal Trainer after the internship.
- Willingness to work in other club departments as needed.
- Physical ability to perform aerobic activity, bend, stand, reach, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- CPR and AED certification is preferred.
- Prior experience in a fitness facility, customer service, or program design is a plus.
