About the role#
As an Engineering Intern at our Lemoore facility, you will support the engineering department on projects that require extra resources. This role provides hands-on industry experience while increasing the department output. You will report directly to the Engineering Manager and split your time between desk work and direct machinery interaction in a dairy manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Manage and develop individual projects with budgets reaching $100,000.
- Support senior engineers on larger capital projects.
- Apply mechanical design, process engineering, and project management principles.
- Conduct root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other engineering duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Junior standing or higher in a B.S. Engineering or technical degree program, such as Mechanical Engineering.
- Ability to work any shift, including weekends and holidays, and handle long hours when necessary.
- Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and access elevated areas like ladders or stairs.
- Commitment to wearing required personal protective equipment and following all safety practices.
- Ability to understand and apply standard operating procedures.
- Preferred: Previous experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Skills in computer-aided design, mechanics, fluids, and basic financial planning.
