About the role#
The FirstGen College Success Fellow serves as a full-time American Connection Corps (ACC) member with Corazón Healdsburg. This role focuses on supporting first-generation students as they navigate the college preparation process. The fellow works under staff supervision to build capacity for the First Gen Early College Counseling program, ensuring students have the resources and confidence to pursue higher education.
What you'll do#
- Support the First Gen Early College Counseling program by assisting with college readiness workshops, FAFSA completion, and scholarship applications.
- Help students build digital literacy skills and identify summer program opportunities.
- Guide students through the Summer Journals project, providing feedback and tracking progress.
- Collaborate with staff to develop and update an onboarding handbook for incoming students.
- Facilitate the contract renewal process for returning students, including outreach and documentation management.
- Maintain accurate service-related student records and track participation metrics for program reporting.
What you'll need#
- Passion for community service and digital inclusion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Interest in gaining professional experience in community development.
- Eligibility: Must be a U.S. Citizen, National, or Lawful Permanent Resident, at least 17 years of age, and possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Note: Candidates must not have previously served four or more AmeriCorps State/National terms.
Location & details#
- Location: Healdsburg, California.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September 8, 2026, to August 13, 2027).
- Modality: This is an on-site, full-time position requiring approximately 40 hours per week for a total of 1700 service hours.
- Compensation: This position is paid and includes a living stipend, a Segal Education Award, healthcare coverage, and access to childcare benefits.
