About the role#
The Pharmacist Intern assists pharmacists and technicians with daily pharmacy operations at University Medical Center. You will work under supervision to prepare and distribute medications while supporting quality patient care. This is a part-time, paid position with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Prepare unit dose, oral, and intravenous medications.
- Procure, package, and distribute pharmaceutical supplies.
- Restock medications in clinics and patient care areas.
- Answer phone calls and triage requests to ensure timely communication.
- Conduct quality assurance audits and equipment inspections.
- Monitor refrigerator and freezer temperatures to maintain logs.
- Complete all required training and competency assessments.
- Participate in professional activities to stay current on pharmacy practices.
What you'll need#
- Current Pharmacist Intern Licensure through the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy.
- Enrollment in a Pharmaceutical Sciences program.
- Previous hospital experience as a pharmacy student or intern is preferred.
