About the role#
Langan is hiring a Traffic Engineering Intern or Co-op for the Fall 2026 term. You will assist our team with various transportation projects, including impact studies, parking studies, traffic signal design, and event management for stadiums. This role involves a mix of office-based technical work and field observations.
What you'll do#
- Perform traffic observations and data collection.
- Prepare technical reports, design plans, and project specifications.
- Assist with transportation impact studies, highway occupancy permits, and master plans.
- Develop figures and graphics for project documentation.
- Observe construction activities.
- Support the site and civil engineering groups as needed.
What you'll need#
- You must be actively pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or Transportation Planning.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to access job sites.
- Familiarity with HCS, SYNCHRO, and the MUTCD is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, or SoftDesk is a plus.
