About the role#
Langan is hiring a Traffic Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Austin, Texas. This paid, full-time position supports our traffic and transportation projects. You will gain exposure to transportation impact studies, parking studies, traffic event management, master planning, and signal design.
What you'll do#
- Perform traffic observations and data collection.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, design plans, and specifications.
- Assist with transportation impact studies, highway occupancy permits, and traffic signal design.
- Observe construction activities.
- Create figures and graphics for project documentation.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year or advanced degree program in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or Transportation Planning.
- Preference for students in their junior or senior year or those pursuing an MS degree.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Familiarity with HCS, SYNCHRO, and the MUTCD is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, or SoftDesk is a plus.
