About the role#
Langan is looking for an intern or co-op to join the Site/Civil team in Milwaukee for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position. You will support site feasibility studies, technical report preparation, and design documentation while working directly with industry leadership on land development projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and modify engineering documents, including reports, specifications, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans.
- Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other engineering software to complete design tasks.
- Analyze soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical data using maps, drawings, and aerial photographs.
- Support zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments.
- Conduct sidewalk cost estimations and determine project feasibility based on data analysis.
- Provide field inspection services when needed.
- Collaborate with team members and apply engineering mathematics to project assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year or advanced degree program in Civil Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- The ability to work both independently and within a team.
