About the role#
Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is hiring a Site/Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. Based in Princeton, New Jersey, this role supports site feasibility studies, technical report preparation, and design plans for land development projects. You will partner with industry leadership to gain technical experience on a variety of infrastructure assignments.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering and land development projects.
- Prepare and modify engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and cost estimates.
- Use engineering software like AutoCAD or Civil 3D to create design plans.
- Analyze reports, maps, drawings, and aerial photographs to assess site conditions such as terrain and hydrological characteristics.
- Support zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments.
- Determine project feasibility based on data analysis.
- Assist with sidewalk cost estimations.
- Provide field inspection services when needed.
- Collaborate with team members on project assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year or advanced degree program in Civil Engineering.
- Preference for students in their Junior or Senior year, or those pursuing an MS degree.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
