About the role#
Langan is seeking a Site/Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Boston. You will support site feasibility studies and gain hands-on experience by partnering with industry leadership on land development and infrastructure projects. This position involves both office-based technical work and field inspection services.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and modify engineering documents including reports, specifications, design plans, construction schedules, and cost estimates.
- Assess site conditions such as soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical data.
- Support zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments.
- Conduct sidewalk cost estimations and determine project feasibility based on data analysis.
- Provide field inspection services as needed.
- Apply engineering principles and advanced mathematics to project tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to complete assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year or advanced degree program in Civil Engineering. Preference is given to students in their Junior or Senior year or those pursuing an MS degree.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and work independently or in a team.
