About the role#
Langan is seeking a Site/Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Tyler, Texas. This position offers hands-on experience in land development and infrastructure projects. You will work directly with team members on site feasibility studies, technical reports, and design plans.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering and land development projects.
- Prepare and modify engineering documents including reports, specifications, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans.
- Use software like AutoCAD and Civil 3D to support project designs.
- Assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical data.
- Support zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments.
- Determine project feasibility based on data analysis.
- Provide field inspection services as needed.
- Apply engineering knowledge and mathematics to project tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year or advanced degree program in Civil Engineering (preference for Junior, Senior, or MS students).
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, multitasking, and judgment skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
