About the role#
Langan is hiring a Site/Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work with our team in Tampa to support site feasibility studies, technical report preparation, and project design. This role provides hands-on experience with land development projects by working alongside industry leadership.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and modify engineering documents, including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and cost estimates.
- Use engineering and design software to assess data and determine project feasibility.
- Analyze soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical data.
- Support zoning, ordinance, and permit assessments.
- Assist with sidewalk cost estimations.
- Provide field inspection services when needed.
- Collaborate with team members on project assignments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year or advanced degree program in Civil Engineering.
- Preference for students in their junior or senior year or those pursuing an MS degree.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Ability to travel as required by project needs.
